We are a non-profit organization, working together with various organizations who share our vision to reach out to individuals in our community and help them gain the tools to succeed in life.

We are members of the Professional Woman Network and the National Mentoring Database.

We are looking for adults who are willing to assist individuals in our community in bringing out their strengths, develop their competence and character.

Whether you are a lifetime advocate or new to our cause, we invite you to join us in making a positive impact on our community.  We welcome volunteers in the areas of mentors, committee members, board members, tutors, fundraising events, etc.  All volunteers are welcome to apply.

About Our Program

The Y-E-S I CAN program utilizes empowerment seminars for teens and adults, life coaching paired with a one year mentorship program to help individuals succeed in life.  Our target audience for the workshops and mentoring are teens and adults who are at risk.  Y-E-S I CAN will provide confidential referrals for individuals seeking a Literacy Tutor for those who wish to expand their learning to read.  In giving them the tools to succeed and the support of a mentor to encourage them, individuals can overcome obstacles when they are determined to be successful.

Through the use of workshops, seminars and being paired with our mentorship program, the mission of Y-E-S I CAN is the pursuit of the following principles:

·         Commitment: Y-E-S I CAN wants to inspire pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and instill a sense of hope in the future.

·         Responsibility: The focus of Y-E-S I CAN is to empower individuals in establishing goals and following through on commitments.

·         Possibility: Y-E-S I CAN wants to expand the perspective of individuals to make them aware of life's possibilities.

·         Support: An individual is dramatically influenced by their support system.  We want to surround them in a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Y-E-S I CAN's Vision Statement: To improve the learning and the lives of individuals through community partnerships.

Y-E-S I CAN's Mission Statement: Helping Families & Individuals overcome their life’s obstacles and rise to their full potential.

Family members of our program participants are an important part of the program.  Their support of the program and of the family member will help the individual reach for their dreams and achieve their goals.  We have supportive seminars for the family members as well.

The individuals we are encouraging to participate in the Y-E-S I CAN program include:

·         Youth whose parents are incarcerated or are from single parent homes

·         Youth who have been in a juvenile detention center

·         Youth who show signs of being at risk (grades and attendance dropping in school, etc…)

·         Adults who want to change their life around and need the extra support, such as those in Drug Sobriety Court, in Shelter Inc homes, or homeless shelters.

·         Parents who need a parenting mentor.

If possible, all seminars at our disposal will be available to those incarcerated, to empower them to take steps in changing their lives and draft a plan to succeed once they have been released.

The support of the mentor program or life coach will help individuals reach for their dreams.
